Matt is one of three Directors at Hampton Jones. Matt's main area of expertise is in the field of Weather-tightness services including investigation, solutions and strategies for clients and Expert Witness services. Matt also provides a leadership and mentoring role to members of the Hampton Jones team also involved with providing these services.

Matt has over 20 years experience working in the building Industry both in the UK and New Zealand. He originally qualified as a carpenter and joiner which provided an excellent grounding at the beginning of his career. Subsequently Matt has excellent comprehension regarding practical application which, results in a pragmatic solutions based approach to his work to the benefit of his clients.

Since 1996 Matt's career developed through a number of roles which have provided him with a good and varied depth of building experience including, Site Management, Building Inspection and compliance, Claims Investigation and Dispute Resolution (Building Failures) and Building Surveying.

In the early part of his career Matt also progressed his professional development and education by studying for a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in building which, was completed in 2001, after four years part time study.

Matt has worked and resided in New Zealand since 2003. Matt is a registered member of the New Zealand Institute of Building Surveyors (NZIBS) and an Associate member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Matt also sits on the Executive Committee of the NZIBS and is a regular contributor to industry on relevant issues.
